POLICE AND CITIZENS ON THE SAME TASK

On the occasion of the Liberation Day of the City of Nis-October 14, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nebojsa Stefanovic, attended the beginning of the campaign "Stop - all in sports" and "Security culture of young people", as well as the signing of the Grant Contract on donation of security cameras to Police Department in Nis, and the parade of members of the official vehicles of the MUP -Police of Serbia.

Minister Stefanovic in Nis stressed that the security situation today in Serbia is stable and that the police will quickly, with preventive and intelligence operations prevent any endangerment of public safety. "Serbia has in the past year faced with more challenges than those that occurred after the terrorist action in Kumanovo and Zvornik, to various challenges brought about by the movement of an enormous number of migrants through our state - said the Minister of police. According to him, serious and responsible actions of the police, without raising panic, no safety problem in the environment was not passed on to our land. Speaking about the parade of police officers in Nis, Stefanovic said that it is important to police activity, which aims at approaching police officers the local community. "This is a nice display of capabilities of the police, he said, and expressed particular satisfaction that the parade is held on the Day of Nis liberation. According to him, it is the symbolism that would show that the police is always with its people, with a task to protect the population and to fight against corruption and crime, where the police officers can rely always on the citizens. The Minister also expressed the satisfaction that he was attending the beginning of the projects related to the safety of young people, since it's a big challenge nowadays, not only in Serbia, but in all countries of the world. Young people are exposed to different types of challenges related to various criminal activities, from drug trafficking to the latest forms of crime related to the use of the Internet. According to Stefanović, Police Department in Nis undertakes a number of activities so to ensure safety to young people and all other citizens. He praised the cooperation with the local government of Nis.

These activities in the town house, on a plateau in the Fortress, was also Boban Džunić, president of Palilula Municipality. In this low urban municipality with more than 80,000 inhabitants, an extensive transportation infrastructure and numerous educational institutions launched several initiatives and proposals aimed at improving the safety of youth and all citizens, traffic participants.

Mayor of the City of Nis, Zoran Perisic specified that 12 security cameras, which is a City of Nis donated to the Police Department, worth 6.2 million RSD, will be placed on one of the largest intersections in Nis, at the corner of Dr Zoran Djindjic Boulevard and Vojvode Misica street. Nis is the second city in Serbia, after Belgrade, which, based on the request of the traffic police, provided modern technical system for visual monitoring of traffic violations. The cameras will provide one faster and more successful uncovering even those most serious crimes.

The Chief of Police in Nis Srdjan Grekulović pointed out that in Nis there is no organized criminal group whose members were juveniles., In the first nine months of this year in this area, according to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior affairs, it was not committed any serious crime in which minors participated of were the victims.
